You are required to work out whether your employee is entitled to Statutory Maternity Pay and Leave. Some Employees won’t qualify for both.

Your employee should give you a MAT B1 on or after the 20th week of their pregnancy. This will allow you to work out their Statutory Maternity Pay and Leave entitlement. Within 28 days of receiving the MATB1 you must give them a letter confirming their pay and leave details.
