Each time you run a payroll you need to send a Full Payment Submission (FPS) to HMRC.  This can be easily overlooked or forgotten in busy periods.

HMRC do understand that sometimes we are human. Therefore there are three exceptions which will hopefully stop you from receiving a penalty. These are:

  • your FPS is late but all reported payments on the FPS are within 3 days of your employees’ payday (this applies from 6 March 2015 to 5 April 2016)
  • you’re a new employer and you sent your first FPS within 30 days of paying an employee
  • it’s your first failure in the tax year to send a report on time

More information about the information that needs to be submitted to HMRC in relation to PAYE can be found here:

PayrollAbility’s robust processing procedures ensure that your Full Payment Submission is not overlooked or missed. A late submission can be caused by late payroll information being received into the office from the client. However, our processes ensure that where information is required from the client to complete the payroll, time is allowed for this information to be received. The client is sent a reminder email to ensure that they are aware of the need for the information, and prompted to provide it in time for payroll processing and completion.

Call the office today on 01984 92 90 20 to find out how we can help you avoid missing your HMRC submissions by outsourcing your payroll to PayrollAbility.  We’re looking forward to speaking to you.
